Martin Wright’s Walk & Talk on the Battle of Cable Street, 2pm Saturday 12 March

Martin Wrights’s Walk & Talk on the Battle of Cable Street 12 March

Wit, raconteur and anti-fascist Martin Wright will be leading a walk and talk about the history and implications of the famous Battle of Cable Street, finishing triumphant at the Ripper Museum at 12 Cable Street. Assemble PROMPT at 2pm at Tower Hill tube station.

On Sunday 4 October 1936, the people of the East End fought back not just the black-shirted thugs of Mosely’s British Union of Fascists (name sort of gives their game away) and the cops who tried to force through the fascist attack on a working class community.

They did not pass that day.
